Imagine your Kinpine moments

Slow sips, golden light

Brew fresh coffee while sunrise paints the lake a soft rose-gold. The oversized island becomes mission control: spreading maps, packing trail snacks, and catching up with cousins you haven't seen in years. By the time the mug is empty, the whole crew has a plan—paddleboards at Sand Harbor before lunch and a late-afternoon hike to Monkey Rock for panoramic views.

Morning light turns the chef's kitchen into the day's first gathering place.

Unwind & reconnect

After a blue-bird ski day everyone melts into the leather sofas. Logs crackle, kids deal UNO, and golden hour streams through picture windows. Fiber Wi-Fi lets Grandpa FaceTime relatives back East without a stutter—but most phones stay pocketed because the room itself is the highlight reel.

The living room invites everyone to slow down together once the day on the mountain is done.

Gather around

The twenty-seat dining area holds platters of cedar-plank salmon, local sourdough, and stories stretching back three generations. Between toasts you catch alpenglow across the lake. No restaurant reservation could match the laughter echoing off these beamed ceilings.

"We came with three families and 14 people — ages 4 to 72. The kitchen is the real anchor: every night a different family cooked for the group, and the island became the place everyone gathered. We booked again before we left."

"We arrived in a snowstorm. The heated driveway had already cleared itself. By 9pm all eight of us were in the hot tub watching snow fall into the trees. Diamond Peak the next morning, fire and board games that night. Best ski-trip setup I've ever stayed in."

— David K., San Francisco

"Four generations under one roof. My parents had the California King with the lake view; the grandkids claimed the bunk room immediately. Seven actual bedrooms meant everyone had privacy and we all came together in the great room. We've done a lot of Tahoe trips. This is the one we'll keep coming back to."

"I'll be honest — I stared at the price for a while. Split six ways it made sense, but I was still nervous. It exceeded every expectation. The Pac-Man cabinet, the piano, the private beach access that nobody else seemed to know about. A week later my friends are already asking about next summer."

Frequently asked questions

How far is Kinpine House from the nearest ski resort?

Diamond Peak is an easy 10-minute drive (about 3 miles). Northstar, Mt Rose and Palisades Tahoe are all within 30–40 minutes, giving you access to terrain for every skill level.

Do we need beach passes to access Lake Tahoe?

Incline Village's private beaches are pay-to-enter; we're happy to meet your group at the gate so you can enter as registered guests. Sand Harbor State Park (public) is 12 minutes south on the East Shore Trail.

Is the kitchen really equipped for gourmet cooking?

Yes. You'll find a 36″ range, double ovens, sous-vide wand, high-speed blender, KitchenAid mixer, sharp knives and enough cookware to pull off Thanksgiving dinner for nineteen.

What's the best way to handle parking in winter?

The heated concrete driveway fits six cars and melts snowfall automatically. Two more vehicles fit inside the garage, which includes an EV charger. 4×4 or chains are still recommended during big storms.
